I was born and raised in Jackson, MS and have two older brothers and one older sister. I attended Wingfield High School and after graduating high school, I went to Mississippi College where I met my husband, David. We both completed our degrees at Mississippi State and then moved back to Brandon to pursue our careers. This is my 12th year of teaching and each of those years I have taught 1st grade. I have three boys, Carter (8), Chase (5) and Cooper (9 months). We attend First Baptist Church of Jackson. I am a huge supporter of the Cougars!! I cheered throughout high school and two years in college so I am full of school spirit! I strongly encourage my class to wear as much black and gold each Friday when football season begins!! I have a strong love for children and for teaching, and am very excited about this school year!!!
About the cha cha...
The cha cha slide that you hear is our class song. It is a fun organized way to get the kids out of their seats AND helps to burn up some of their bottled energy! When I can tell that my students need a break, I silently sneak over to the computer to play the song. They immediately stand up and begin dancing. It is a real treat to watch. We LOVE the cha cha!!
